The Chalhoub Group joins France Pavilion at Expo 2020 as a Thematic Partner

gulftech France Pavilion at Expo 2020 is delighted to announce Chalhoub Group as a Thematic partner. From 5 November to 6 December 2021, the Group will present a temporary exhibition on the French art de vivre – a theme which has a very special place in Chalhoub’s history, dating back to the opening of the first Christofle boutique in Damascus in 1955. Then, during the Creation’s month (24 December 2021 to 20 January 2022), the Chalhoub Group will promote French excellence in the creative and luxury sectors.

From 5 November to 6 December, the Chalhoub Group will hold a temporary exhibition dedicated to the French art de vivre

This immersive temporary exhibition showcases French Art de Vivre, with a focus on dining accessories and tableware. The exhibition will combine enhancement of prestigious creations with spectacular scenography, taking visitors through the process of French creation and savoir-faire, and into the French tradition of tableware, as well as presenting a vision of future savoir-vivre in France.

The three legendary houses of Baccarat, Bernardaud and Christofle will be the main contributors to this temporary exhibition.

Patrick CHALHOUB, Chairman of the Chalhoub Group commented: “This temporary exhibition will be experienced as an enchanting pause, during which French traditions will blend with the innovation and technology of our modern world. “Once upon a time” will welcome us into a world full of allure where ancestral know-how and boundless creativity meet. Like a gentle snook to the daunting news we are surrounded with, this exhibition will be a precious occasion to remind us how meaningful moments of sharing, conviviality and togetherness are. Drawing inspiration from the past whilst celebrating the future to fully live the present…”

Embodying and supporting French artistic creation in Dubai.

Expo 2020 will be the biggest global gathering of 2021, and France Pavilion will be an unforgettable showcase for demonstrating French excellence and savoir-faire.

The Pavilion’s aim will be to promote French companies, talent, ideas and assets. France is also aiming to demonstrate its commitment to constructing the future via political, economic, cultural and social initiatives and actions.

This commitment will be demonstrated principally by the programme of events of the France Pavilion. The guiding principle for this will be the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) as defined by the United Nations.

As such, the Pavilion will shine a spotlight on initiatives and innovations with the power to address the challenges of economic, social, ecological and cultural transformation in our society. From 20 December 2021 to 20 January 2022, France Pavilion will dedicate its event programming to Creation, highlighting the exceptional influence of French culture across a wide range of domains and creative practices.

“At the Dubai World Expo, France Pavilion aims to embody and support the exceptional nature of French culture in all its forms; this is why we are delighted to have the Chalhoub Group by our side, to symbolise this French excellence”, said Erik Linquier, Commissioner General for France at Expo 2020 Dubai, and Chairman of COFREX. “The partnership makes perfect sense both because of the Group’s strong foothold in the Middle East, and also its commitment to excellence and savoir-faire in the fields of luxury, beauty and fashion.”
