Likee Creators Showcased the Power of Community and Togetherness During Eid

Dubai-UAE: gulftech – Over the past week, creators on Likee, a pioneering global short video platform, showcased a variety of content where they expressed their feelings of happiness for Eid – the celebratory holiday after the holy month of Ramadan. They showcased new outfits they bought for the special occasion, shared humorous stories about family situations, and documented the iconic moment of receiving Eid gifts.
Eid is a tradition that spans back a number of centuries and is all about spreading love, sharing moments and congratulations for a successful month of fasting. On social media, users have become more active in demonstrating how the season has been for them. In fact, on Likee, creators were eager to showcase the spirit of Eid and Ramadan on the platform and focus their attention on the content that mattered most to them. As a result, over 2,900 users produced 16,000 self-development and entertainment videos with hashtags related to Ramadan and Eid, attracting over 3 million views.
“The quality of content is developing a sense of connectedness and solidarity between people – which is simply incredible,” said Mr. Wick Wang, Operations Director MENA, Likee. People are learning about past traditions and sharing how they celebrated Eid this year. We look forward to see more creators and users continue to spread good virtue and joy on Likee throughout the remainder of the year.”
On each of the hashtags #فيلمالعيد, #يومياتيفيالعيد, #أزياءالعيد Likers focused on the different sides of Eid, capturing every aspect that makes the holiday a very special and happy time.

An essential practice during Eid is to buy new outfits. People feel the need for not only spiritual and emotional renewal, but to also look their best. The tradition of dressing up for Eid goes back generations and @SimoElKebbachi captured the vibe and feel of a fresh outfit in his short video perfectly.
One of the greatest tradition of Eid is for the whole family including distant relatives to come together and have a feast. Every family has a story that causes distance and division. Likee creators such as Aarif reminded his that time is precious and something that we will never get back and that it is best to forgive and forget to live happier lives. People usually take Eid as an opportunity to fix relationships and move forward with more positivity in their minds and love in their hearts.
Eid is also a time for everyone to indulge and enjoy their favorite food and drink. Cultures around the world all make pastries, sweets, and all kinds of savory cuisine to reward their families for the dedication they showed during Ramadan. @suhaib_musa shared with his audience some mouthwatering Arab sweets for the occasion.
Lastly, an age-old tradition of Eid was comedically acted out in @1Khalidsat’s video. Eid completes the value of giving, which was such a big part of Ramadan, with the older generation sharing gifts with the youth. The reason for the tradition is to solidify the value of giving, and that way people feel eager to continue to show generosity throughout the year.
The Likee community came to life on the short video platform during Eid to showcase the values of generosity, forgiveness, and love. They took the opportunity to share their joyful moments with others using fun and engaging content.
Our differences in culture, ethnicity, and location are not obstacles to building close relationships. Likers proved that people around the world have more in common than expected, even in the most intimate traditions. We should therefore celebrate these similarities to not only relate to one another but to connect and show compassion to people when they need it.
